The common element in most educational versions of bingo is the use of modified bingo worksheets. Instead of the standard worksheets that contain numbers, the teacher creates, ahead of class, worksheets that contain items chosen for the lesson. In the math class, the items might still be numbers, but the numbers are the answers to problems called out by the teacher. In a language class, the worksheets might be printed with Spanish or French words, which the students must match to calls made in English by the teacher. Really there are almost endless possible variations, and innovative teachers are inventing new ones all the time. You might think that this is all very well, but where can the special customized bingo worksheets be obtained. Obviously, it would not be a good use of a busy teacher’s time to spent a lot of time manually preparing a worksheet for each student. Fortunately, there is an answer – a PC and some bingo worksheet creator software can make light work of printing worksheets on any theme that the teacher chooses.
Kindergarten should be fun. And teaching kindergarten can be fun too. But as any good kindergarten teacher would well understand, it can be an extremely active experience. A kindergarten teacher has to get fully involved and involve children with lots of interesting kindergarten activities, worksheets and exercises, that would hold their attention and make it an enjoyable experience for them. There are two important points that may be kept in mind here: ==> The learning should be fun. It should not feel like work, but play. For otherwise, children will quickly get bored. Hence it would be a good idea to use a lot of interesting activities, games, coloring sheets, illustrated kindergarten worksheets etc. You should be well prepared with these teaching aids, which can be made very easily. The learning should be real-worldly. It is easiest to learn and remember when whatever is learned is immediately applied to a practical, real-life situation. You should use every opportunity to teach and regularly reinforce basic concepts taught, in real-life and in real-time. For instance, during snack-time, if a child is eating a biscuit, you can say – ’B’ for ’biscuit’. While waiting for a school van, you can say – ’V’ for ’Van’ and so on. Whether you are home schooling a child or teaching in a classroom do make the learning a very interactive exercise with lots of educational activities and games. When kids hear the word worksheet, they usually cringe. This is because they think of the hard work they receive at school. Even if your child is among the crowd who would rather play video games or even clean his room rather than do worksheets at home, there are a variety of ways you can encourage learning at home. There are many fun worksheets for kids available online that are an extension of the video games that are available, furthering the skills kids learn in school and online. Rewards ==> One of the most effective ways to encourage the use of fun worksheets for kids at home is to use video game time as a reward for the completion of printed work. The printed out sheets are meant to review the information that was learned in school. Too often kids seem to fully understand a subject while in the classroom but seem to forget the entire concept on the bus ride home. When you provide extensions of their learning at home, they will gain a better grasp of the subject. When you give children time to play online educational games that are enjoyable as a reward for completing printed work, they are more likely to oblige.
3) Maths worksheets should challenge students and at the same time should not be a scary subject to attempt. Worksheets are a recommended mathematic learning source and an amalgam of the total syllabi. They are the top priority in the education system and are used as a learning tool by many parents, schools, teachers and students. 4) These worksheets are created after a lot of thought and toil and prepared according to the different age levels of the children. They are equipped to cater to a different range of teaching stages. The child can get proficient in dealing with complicated maths problems by solving sums in the worksheets and this can make the basic education engaging and fun. 5) Enrich and enhance the educational experience of your child. Introduce the world of printable maths worksheets to your children so that they can learn all the maths elements thoroughly. You are definitely going to inculcate solving skill and learning ability in your child with the help of these prepared tasks.
Care should be taken to give children worksheets that they are capable of doing. This involves understanding and monitoring the child continually, since the level of attainment of different children would often be quite different. The worksheet should challenge the child but not overwhelm her. If the worksheet is too easy or too repetitive, it may bore the child and she would not be happy. If the activity is too difficult it would frustrate her and she would not like to take up more sheets. The children should love to do the worksheets; they should not be thrust upon them. Also doing only worksheets alone repeatedly would not be very productive. You should have a range of physical games and activities as well that would reinforce the concepts learnt. Here are a few ideas for such activities: ==> The alphabet song: This remains a lovely way to practise the alphabet. Sing it slowly and sing it often. If you have a large alphabet chart and point out to each letter while you sing, it will be of great value. You can give all children letter cards in order (alphabet flashcards); they can hold up each letter as it is sung.
Most people are familiar with the game of bingo. The idea of the game is simple: each player is given a bingo worksheet (or ”bingo card” or ”bingo board”) containing a grid of squares (each square usually contains a different number), and the goal is to cross out numbers as they are called out by the bingo caller, hopefully being the first to achieve a winning pattern or line (what is considered a winning pattern may vary depending on the rules being used). One thing that you may not know however is that there are many variations on the basic game of bingo, and these have been applied for a variety of educational purposes. Bingo is in fact an excellent tool that can be used to help teaching reading, vocabulary, math, science and many other K-12 subjects, and also is of use in teaching English as Second Language (”ESL”).
Most of us know how to play the game of bingo. Thus, the way to play bingo is probably may already be familiar, but if not, here is a quick recap: 1. Each player is a bingo worksheet (also known as a ”bingo card” or ”bingo board”). 2. The bingo worksheet contains a grid of squares. Each square usually contains a different number 3. The bingo caller calls out the items printed on the worksheets in a random order. 4. As items are called out, the players cross items off their worksheets. The winner is the first player to achieve a winning pattern of crossed out items on their worksheet (in different versions of the game, different winning patterns may be used). Although of course the standard game of bingo is well-known by many people, and played by many as a leisure activity, what is not so widely known is that modified versions of bingo can be of great use in education. In fact, bingo is becoming increasingly common in classrooms, and can be used as a teaching aid in a number of K-12 subjects including reading, vocabulary, math, foreign languages and even science and history, as well as in adult education, in for example English as a Second Language (ESL) classes.
